Re: 2.9 efi conversion. by Beakster » Wed Jan 25, 2012 8:03 pm. Take the flywheel off your 2.8 engine and bolt it to the 2.9 (using the 2.8 bolts), and bolt the clutch from the 2.8 on as well. I think you'll need a spigot bearing to put into the crank, still available from Ford for about 5 quid. Ghia15.
